ABOUT ME
Growing up, I always had a passion for photography. I just never pursued it until recently. I admire the way that seemingly mundane moments can be captured and transformed into a different sense of beauty. This notion still captivates me, and pushes my creativity every day. My photography is based around mental health emotions. As humans our emotions can be overpowering and get the better of us, while sometimes those emotions can be caused by trauma of some sort and progress into mental issues which the can lead to mental health orders, like OCD, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia etc.
I personally feel, even with all the rise and awareness today, mental health is still a grey area - especially within our youth. "One in six children aged five to 16 were identified as having a probable mental health problem in July 2021".
Through my work I strive to represent as well as display some of the hardships of living with mental health issues, while also giving some of my own personal experience.
MORE ABOUT ME
My journey as a photographer began in Oct 2020, before I was studying Forensic and Criminal Investigation (Forensic Science) at Halesowen College. A month into the course I realised that I wasn't happy and found no joy in what I was learning/doing, so I decided to changed course and transfer to Sandwell College to study Level 3 Photography. If I had continued with Forensics, I know that my mental health would have worsened.
As a photographer, I view the world through a creative lens. This creativity has led me to many adventures, and has given me the chance to explore how far I can take my perspective of art through imagery.
